Literacy/Math Coordinator

Lisa HaleyLisa Haley is the Literacy/Math Coordinator of the State Improvement/Personnel Development Grant for the Arkansas Department of Education-Special Education Unit, a position she has held since October of 2004. Ms. Haley’s professional experience ranges from state-level program coordination to classroom teaching.  Prior to joining the SPDG, Ms. Haley spent eleven years in Missouri as a District level Special Education Administrator.

As Literacy/Math Coordinator for the Arkansas State Personnel Grant, Ms. Haley oversees the primary goals of the SPDG related to literacy and math with a focus on multi-tiered Response-to-Intervention (RtI) and data-based problem solving. Ms. Haley has presented at the School, District and State level on a variety of topics including Data Based Problem Solving, Literacy Instruction and Intervention, Leadership, and Arkansas' Closing the Achievement Gap initiative. She was recently certified as a Professional Developer in the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) through the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning and will be providing statewide professional development in SIM Learning Strategies.

Ms. Haley has served as project coordinator for the Arkansas Literacy intervention Matrix and the Responding to Individual Differences in Education (RIDE) Reading Intervention Bank, both web-based resources for K-12 literacy interventions. She is currently overseeing the development of a similar web-based resource for mathematics interventions.

Ms. Haley's educational background includes a Masters Degree in Public School Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education and Special Education.
